Fie pentru visul unei plimbări romantice în gondolă pe fâşiile de apă sau doar pentru a parcurge străduţele atât de înguste încât îţi dau impresia că poţi atinge şirurile de case, făcându-te să întinzi braţele ca pentru o îmbrăţişare plină de dorinţă, Veneţia a fost pentru noi - aşa cum ne-o amintim acum, după mai bine de două luni - suma unor frumuseţi învăluite în mister şi legendă, o capodoperă de artă care trebuie privită în ansamblu, percepută astăzi aproape ca un loc de pelerinaj, unde fiecare om trebuie sa ajungă cel puţin o dată în viaţă.
Nu oricine deţine privilegiul de a călători departe de casă. Posibilitatea de a cunoaşte oameni şi culturi diferite, moduri de viaţă nemaiîntâlnite până atunci, tradiţii pline de haz şi tâlc, este cel mai minunat dar cu putinţă. Asta pentru că - prin necesitatea de a se adapta, datorită noilor experienţe şi descoperirilor personale - sufletul devine mai tolerant şi mai înţelegător, şi aceasta este o bogăţie nemăsurată şi intangibilă, cu atât mai valoroasă la vârsta şcolii...

Either for the dream of a romantic trip by gondola on the channels, or simply for a stroll along the narrow streets that make you feel you could touch both rows of houses at once, making you open your arms as if in a lustful embrace, Venice was for us - as we remember it now, more than two months later - a sum of beauties wrapped together in mystery and legend, a work of art one should regard as a whole, perceived today almost like a place of pilgrimage where each and every person should go at least once in a lifetime.
The privilege of travelling far away from home is not granted to everybody. The opportunity of meeting different people and cultures, new ways of life, funny or meaningful traditions, is the most wonderful gift of all. Because our soul - whenever it has to adapt itself to new experiences and personal discoveries - becomes more tolerant and understanding, and this is an endless and untouchable wealth, even more valuable at school age...
